When you arrive, please find the key in a keysafe to the right of the front door. The keycode is 1066. Just go in and make yourselves at home. Please will you return the key to the keysafe upon departure.
Guests are welcome to explore the private woodland around Irt Valley View at their own risk - this is a magical place, with wildlife, streams and even a waterfall - care must be taken, as paths can become overgrown and slippery. Children must be supervised at all times.
There is not currently an EV charging point at Irt Valley View, and charging using the standard household sockets is strictly prohibited

The cleaner key safe is located below the guest key safe with the code 0265.
The combination code for the locked cleaner cupboard at the bottom of the stairs and for the locked laundry cupboard at the top of the stairs is 321 (from the top down).

Clean laundry pick up point:
To find where the clean laundry is dropped off you need to go through the conifer hedge towards High House. On your left, after you have gone through the hedge, is an open fronted lean-to. The laundry is dropped off under a plastic cover in the bottom lefthand corner of this lean-to. The clean laundry is dropped off mid-week, so Dave Haywood will take this into High House and then drop it into the hallway of the cottage on changeover day. Please make sure that Dave has checked the clean laundry against the delivery note.

Covid Procedures
1. The pillow and mattress protectors are on rotation and the spares are kept in the cleaning cupboard in plastic bags.
2. Throws and pillows are on rotation and when taken off they are stored in the cleaning cupboard in plastic bags.
3. The books have been cornered off and are not allowed to be used and there are no board games.

Is there a welcome pack?

Welcome pack contents:
Guest Basket to contain fresh milk, tea, coffee sachets, tassimo pods, sugar, biscuits and locally made jam.
Owner will arrange biscuits jam and milk.
Tea, Coffee, Sugar are to be ordered from Out of Eden, cleaner please let the office know when running low on these and check dates periodically.
Where are the welcome pack contents to be found?
In the cleaning cupboard upstairs.
Bins
What happens with the bins:
The bin collection is fortnightly.
There is a black general waste bin and a box for recycling paper, card, tins & bottles.
David Haywood will decant this into the normal bin and make sure that it is left out for guests.
What instructions are there for the cleaner:
Heating and Hot Water
Normal settings for heating, how do visitors boost this if they need to?
The heating is set to come on from 6.30 - 9am and from 3.30 - 10.30 pm.
There are thermostatic rad valves on the radiators that visitors can change.
The control panel is in a box in the kitchen and the main thermostat is in a box in the hallway. if the visitors need to boost this they use the controls in the kitchen. All they need to do is press the bottom right hand button once and this will give an extra hours heat.
The owners are very keen that visitors aren't wasteful with the heating.

The hot water is from a combi boiler - there should be plenty of hot water

Please pay particular attention to the oven and fridge and also the toilets and bathrooms.
Please clean out the drains in the showers on every changeover
The owner contacts the window cleaner on a case by case basis when the windows need cleaning. Please let either Sally's Cottages or Shelagh and David (the owners) know when the windows need cleaning.
There is an artificial Christmas Tree and decorations in the cupboard under the stairs - Please make sure that you put this up at Christmas time and take it down after the New Year booking.
Directions
FROM THE SOUTH: At junction 36, take the A590 exit to Barrow/Kendal/A591/Kirkby Lonsdale/A65. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A590 and stay on the A590 for just under 11 miles. Take the right hand turn signed for Workington/Whitehaven A5092 (A595) and Western Lake District You will pass a petrol station on the left Continue on the A5092 until you reach Grizebeck where it becomes the A595 Follow this road for 25 miles until you have passed by Muncaster Castle. Carry on the A595 until you get to Holmrook. Drive straight through Holmrook, passing the Lutwidge Arms on your left. Once through Holmrook turn right (signed Wasdale Head and Santon Bridge). Irt Valley View is 0.2 miles on your right (next door to High House). From the North Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 40. Follow the A66 from Penrith, past Keswick towards Whitehaven. Follow the main A595 Cumbrian Coastal route heading South towards Ravenglass. Just before you get to the village of Holmrook, turn left (signed Wasdale Head and Santon Bridge). Irt Valley View is 0.2 miles on your right (next door to High House). Parking for up to four cars.
