Please remember to make sure a key is left in the keysafe when you depart. Please note there is only parking for 1 car outside the cottage. All other cars must be parked in the car park by the train station.

Bins

 

What happens with the bins:

Waste is arranged through Copeland Borough Council Trade Waste. Guests are to put their rubbish into the bins in the back yard, which should be lined with an orange bag.

What instructions are there for the cleaner:

There are bins to the rear of the property where guests will leave their rubbish - please ensure that these are lined with the orange bags provided by the council on each changeover.

The orange bags to be put out on the roadside on a Friday morning, so you need to tie them up and bring them from the bins in the back yard, through the house and place them out in a visible spot on the road side to be collected.

Please ensure the orange bags are kept in the locked Housekeeping cupboard, can leave a spare orange bag out under the kitchen sink, just in case.

 

Heating and Hot Water

 

Normal settings for heating, how do visitors boost this if they need to?

Heating throughout the property is via underfloor heating. Each area has a separate control panel which are found on the walls throughout the property. Visitors are asked not to adjust the settings as it causes balancing problems throughout the system and cause the adjacent rooms to switch off. Heating system is Trowarm.

Cleaner instructions for heating settings:

The cleaner will need to check that the heating controls are set correctly as per the normal settings above. Should just be kept the same.

(Troubleshooting) - If you need to change or check the temperature that rooms are set to: Press the up & down arrows together, you will then see what the temp is. This can be adjusted by using the up or down arrows. Once desired temp is set; press the up & down arrows together to save changes and reset to normal mode.

Normal settings for hot water, how do visitors boost this if they need to?

There is no water tank or boiler at the property. The shower is electric and the taps work in a similar way.
Each tap and the shower have an individual heater unit which is activated when you run the hot water. Te water is heated at the point of use so will be hotter when the flow is slower.
The isolator switch for the shower is in the cupboard in the hallway under the stairs.
